Slice of Art Contributors
   Sixteen South Shore Stitchers guild members contributed 15 slices to Ginny Cooper’s Slice of Art Project. Ginny sewed the slices together into a quilt top and quilted it. The quilt (36”x60”) is an exact size copy of Roy Lichtenstein’s 1961 painting – “Girl With Ball” that hangs in MoMA in NYC.

   It was long arm machine quilted by Janet Eisner.
   Her daughter chose the fabrics. It is a birthday present for her daughter and her husband, for their 40th birthdays. (Both turned 40 last October).

I have a good friend whose husband was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. One of our old coworkers asked me to make him a quilt. I chose Kathy Brown's Take 5 pattern and used white in the mix.

All of my friend's previous coworkers in NJ wrote messages on the white blocks to boost his spirits.

I also chose a novelty print with cards on it as he is an avid poker player. Had to make a matching pillowcase too!
